Comprehensive Eye Exams
It’s about more than just blurry vision.
Within our comprehensive eye exams, our doctors and staff look at a multitude of factors to ensure we see and consider the whole picture of a patient’s medical history. We review previous medical history along with family history, as these factors can influence eye function.
One of our highly trained paraoptometric technicians will then conduct a series of preliminary testing to assess different aspects of functional vision and overall general health. These aspects include blood pressure, near-and-far-vision testing, eye alignment and binocularity, color vision, depth perception, visual field testing (peripheral /side vision), eye pressure (IOP), among others.
Dr. Holsclaw-Jones or Dr. Jones-Cannon will complete the comprehensive exam by refining your glasses and/or contact lens prescription, thoroughly evaluating all structures of the eye, and screening for diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and dry eye disease. Dr. Jones and Dr. Cannon also evaluate the ocular effects of many systemic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, toxic medications (Plaquenil, Synthroid, birth control, etc.) so that they can assist your medical doctors in comanaging your conditions for more efficient whole-body treatment.
Our doctors promise to clearly inform and educate you of any conditions or diseases presented during the comprehensive eye exam. Based on the findings, the doctor will create a treatment or care plan specific to the diagnosis.
Just let us know when you schedule your appointment, and we’ll make sure you are taken care of.
